Hanna Matteson
Avenue A Coordinator
Hi, I’m Hannah! I am a lifelong resident of the Antrim/Hillsborough area, having grown up in Washington, NH and lived in the surrounding areas for most of my life. My husband and I have four children, three dogs, one cat, and a bearded dragon. I am passionate about family, enjoying the outdoors, and family. Some of my favorite hobbies involve creating new recipes in the kitchen for loved ones and listening to audiobooks while hiking. I am a big believer in spreading joy and kindness around like its glitter-the more you use it, the more it gets into everything!
I first became aware of The Grapevine when my teens started attending Avenue A. There is no better advertisement for a place than the positive feedback from a teen! This led to my interest in the Avenue A Coordinator position when it became available- I wanted to work for a place where my children felt safe and loved. In my role as Avenue A Coordinator, I am privileged to provide teen programming that reflects the ongoing mission of Avenue A of being a space that provides joy and acceptance to area teens.
My background—both in my areas of study and professional experience—reflects my desire to make a positive impact in my community. I’ve loved working with young people in a variety of settings, including summer camps, before- and after-school programs, public schools, and as a behavior therapist in both clinical and school environments. I hold a bachelor’s degree in psychology from Southern New Hampshire University and a master’s in education from New England College, and I’m grateful every day to use what I’ve learned to support, encourage, and celebrate the teens I work with.
